Crew Spotlight

The people who build and maintain this network are basically invisible. Everybody uses the signal; nobody thinks about who went up in the cold to make it work. Crew Spotlight is where we fix that in the only way a small shop can — by putting real crews on the site.

Send us your crew, your tower, your worst day, your best view. We publish the good ones.

What we are looking for

  • Your crew. Names or first names only, whatever you are comfortable with, and where you run.
  • The work. A build, a swap, a storm call, a stack that took three days longer than it should have.
  • The view. Everybody who has done this job has one photo they are proud of.
  • The story. Two sentences is fine. What made that day worth remembering, or worth forgetting.

How to send it

Use the contact form and put Crew Spotlight in your message. Tell us who you are and what you are sending.

Then email the photos to sales@altitudeiron.com — the form cannot take attachments, so photos have to come by email. Reference the same name so we can match them up.

Biggest file your email will send is the right size. Screenshots of screenshots lose everything that made the shot good.

Before you send — the important part

Never take a hand off, break tie-off, or change your position to get a photo. Not for us, not for anybody. A hundred percent tie-off is a hundred percent, camera or no camera.

We will not publish anything that shows unsafe practice — unclipped, no helmet, free climbing, standing on something that is not rated. Not because we are the safety police, but because a photo on a website is exactly how a bad habit gets normalised for somebody's first year. If your shot is great and the practice in it is not, we will tell you and we will not run it.

Also: check your employer's rules before you send anything showing a site, a client's equipment, or a job in progress. Some carriers and contractors are strict about that, and we do not want your goodwill costing you your job.

What we do with it

  • Sending us photos gives us permission to publish them on this site and our social accounts, with credit to you or your crew as you prefer.
  • You keep ownership. Ask us to take something down and it comes down, no questions.
  • We do not sell your photos, put them on merchandise, or hand them to anyone else.
  • We will not publish a full name, an employer, or a location if you ask us not to — say so when you send it.

The Wall of Steel

This is where the gallery goes. It is empty right now because we just opened, and we are not going to fill it with stock photos of models in hard hats. First real crews who send something in are the ones who go up here.

Featured crews get a discount code, and the best submissions get pulled into the Industry Wire.

Anything not covered here, email sales@altitudeiron.com or use the contact form. A real person answers, usually within one business day.
